Peer-to-peer energy trading for improving economic and resilient operation of microgrids

Peer-to-peer (P2P) energy exchange is a popular market mechanism which enables the transaction of in local communities. The advantages this method for different stakeholders has been demonstrated literature. However, effect P2P on economic and resilient operation microgrids (MGs) not studied yet. This paper presents framework improving MGs. proposed considers synergistic benefits system operator end-users terms of: a) benefit from participation market, b) resilience improvement, c) battery lifetime d) carbon emissions reduction. optimizes sizing operation, while categorizing prioritizing end-users. In order to evaluate effectiveness method, it applied four geographical locations with various Time-of-Use tariff schemes, tested against fault scenarios. results show that can improve up 80%, be prolonged by 32%–37%.
